Fleet Air Army Museum Model Show -
Saturday 13th February 2010 -
The Model Show at RNAS Yeovilton was once again a great success and blessed with high cloud, light winds in exactly the right direction however it was very, very cold. The crowd line considering the chill factor was good and the onlookers were treated once again to a fine display. The BMFA indoor static display was well attended and the two flight simulators were keep busy.
The stand was manned this year by Ken Gale, Bernie Welch and Jan Bassett unfortunately Peter Turley who has attended and manned the stand for many years could not make this February’s event due to ill health.
Special thanks must go to the display pilots who once again gave the spectators a brilliant display unfortunately a one to one display did not materialize out of the blue as happened at last October’s event display by a Griffin powered Seafire.
The pilots were in no particular order:
Phil Parmiter, Oli Ladyman, Bob Partington (Who graces the Museums October events advertisement), William Gillam, Steve Holland, Bob Blackmore John Bransgrove Gordon Whitehead and last but not least Ian Russell.
Helpers on the flight line included Tony Butterworth, Dave Burstow, Doug Thorne, a special thanks must go to Dave Burstow who manned the flight line for the whole two hour event without break, he was last seen heading for a handy oven in which to thaw out.
Finally if I have missed anybody out please accept my apology.
